Yudofu

 

 (Tofu Simmered in Broth)    

 

Ingredients

1 container Firm Aloha Tofu

1 piece (4 inches long) dashi konbu

Recommended Sauces and Condiments

ponzu, mentsuyu (Japanese noodle soup base),  grated daikon, mixture of grated daikon and red chili peppers, grated ginger, finely chopped green onions, bonito flakes, etc.

Cooking Directions

1.  Lightly wipe the surface of konbu with a damp paper towel, place konbu at the bottom of a pot and fill approximately ¾ with water.

2.  Place tofu (cut into easy-to-eat size pieces) in the pot and bring to a boil over medium heat.  Once boiled, reduce heat and simmer for approximately 3 minutes. 

3.  Combine sauce and condiments of your choice in a serving dish and dip tofu in the sauce.
